Adi Kailash is one of the abodes of Lord Shiva in the Himalayas. It is known as Chhota Kailash and second Dham of Panch Kailash. It is the home of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati along with their children Ganpati Ji and Kartikeya Ji. Adi Kailash is related to Shiva and is considered very sacred in Hinduism.
According to legends, Ravana came from the south to worship here and was blessed by Almighty Shiva with the strength of 20 arms and 10 heads. He was one of the biggest admirers of Lord Shiva. Also, Pandavas had stayed here with Sage Vyasa and meditated for a long period.
Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Dharchula is the nearest town. The highest altitude on the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra that people go to is Parvati Sarovar which is 5,245 meters above sea level.
In Adi Kailash Yatra, you get darshan of three more holy peaks. The Brahma Parvat, Annapurna Parvat and Naag-Naagin Parvat. Another major attraction is the Parvati Sarovar or Gauri Kund at the foot of Adi Kailash.
It is said that Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra washes away the sins, thus restoring the Karma cycle. The cosmic energy that is prevalent here will make you feel transformed.
Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are not the same.
Mount Kailash Darshan also included. Totally depends on weather, road conditions and Authorities.
Adi Kailash: Adi Kailash is a replica of Mount Kailash. Height of Adi Kailash is 5,945 meters (19,505 ft) above sea level. Adi Kailash is a very peaceful place and center of spirituality for thousands of Shiva devotees. It is a popular pilgrimage of Shiva devotees.
Om Parvat: During the Adi Kailash Yatra, there is a visit to Om Parvat. Om is naturally inscribed in eight mountains on earth, of which only one has been discovered and that is Om Parvat. Snow falls on this mountain in such a way that when looking at it, it seems as if someone himself had written Om with his own hand.
Om Parvat is located near Nabhi Dhang. Om Parvat peak elevation is 5,590 meters (18,340 ft) above sea level.
The weather best suits Adi Kailash yatra during May & June and September & October. It is the most pleasant time as the weather and temperature both will be in your favor. Monsoon season is not recommended to do Adi Kailash and Om Parvat yatra in any case.
By Air: Pant Nagar Airport, Uttarakhand is the nearest airport but has limited flights only. However, IGI Airport, New Delhi is a better option.
By Train: Kathgodam/Haldwani is the nearest railway station.
By Road: Kathgodam or Haldwani can be reached by an overnight bus. You can get a direct bus from Delhi.
We Recommend: You can land at IGI Airport, New Delhi and board an overnight train or Volvo bus to reach either Haldwani or Kathgodam Railway Station and in the morning, we’ll pick you from Haldwani at 5:30am and Kathgodam railway station at 6am.
Adi Kailash is situated in the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand. Dharchula is the main town and located on the bank of Kali river and shared the border with Nepal. You can visit the Nepal and easily return back to India again.
Until 2019, there was a trek of 200 km in the Adi Kailash Yatra but now a road has been constructed up to Jolingkong and Nabidhang. There is still an optional 4 km trek from Jolingkong to Parvati Sarovar and Chhota Kailash Temple and 2 km approx. trek to Gauri Kund.
The age limit for Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra is 5 years to 80 years, so children under 5 years are not allowed on the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra. All the People who are physically fit & come in the age limit can go for Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Darshan.
As mentioned on wikipedia on 8 October 2004, the British-Scottish-American team successfully did the first ascent of Adi Kailash Mountain, however they did not ascend the final few meters in respect for the sacred nature of the summit.
In Past, it was very difficult to do the Adi Kailash Yatra. In the last few years, Border Roads Organisation has done a tremendous job and constructed a motorable road up to Joling Kong. Which made it very easy for every Shiv Bhakt’s to do Adi Kailash Yatra, It’s still under construction.
Inner Line Permit is mandatory to do Adi Kailash Yatra, which is issued by the SDM Office, Dharchula. Adi Kailash yatra by helicopter is not permitted.
Trekkers must keep 2-3 days reserved for this yatra because due to bad weather sometimes we have to face road blockages or landslides. Book your retun tickets accordingly.

Trekking demands strong cardiovascular endurance, leg power, core stability, and overall stamina to handle long hours on steep, uneven, and rocky terrain. Depending on the difficulty level, trekkers should ideally be capable of jogging 4–7 km in 20–40 minutes.
Preparing your body in advance significantly enhances safety, performance, and enjoyment during the trek.
Strong heart and lung capacity are essential, especially for high-altitude treks where oxygen levels are lower.
Training Goal:
Powerful legs are crucial for ascending steep slopes and descending uneven, rocky paths.
Focus Exercises:
A strong core and upper body help you carry a backpack comfortably for extended hours.
Recommended Exercises:
Flexibility reduces muscle stiffness, prevents injury, and improves endurance.
Include:
One of the most effective ways to simulate trekking conditions. It prepares you for both ascent and descent.
Practice walking with a weighted backpack to replicate real trek conditions.
Allow proper recovery time. Include at least 1–2 rest days per week to prevent overtraining.
Consult a medical professional before high-altitude treks, especially if you have:
Monday / Wednesday / Friday
→ 30–45 minutes brisk walk, jogging, or uphill walking
Tuesday / Thursday
→ Strength training (Squats, Lunges, Planks, Push-ups)
Saturday
→ Long-duration hike or extended stair-climbing session
Sunday
→ Rest day or light stretching / yoga

Heaven Riders India 267 Google reviewsPosted on Google Ajita GoveTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was truly the best trip of my life! Spiti is magical in itself, but the way this Heaven Riders planned and executed everything made it even more special and unforgettable. From the breathtaking landscapes to the smooth coordination, everything was perfectly managed. A special thanks to Vishal ji for his constant support throughout the journey. He made sure we were comfortable, safe, and enjoying every moment. What I really appreciated was that he didn’t just stick to the itinerary — he also showed us extra places that weren’t even mentioned, which made the experience even more memorable. Every small detail was taken care of, and the entire trip felt well-organized and stress-free. I created memories for a lifetime. Highly recommended to anyone planning a Spiti trip — you can trust them completely for an amazing experience! 🌄✨ Looking forward to many more trips together in the future😊Posted on Google Piyush JainTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I don't post reviews at all but for this I had to. Thanks to heaven riders, I managed to complete one of the most difficult courses in high altitude mountaineering. This would not have been possible without the brilliance of our mentor Mr. Vishal Thakur. Under his leadership and guidance, the whole week was packed with adventures and learnings. I would also like to thank Ms. Kalpana, who made all the ends meet with her patience and constant coordination with us. Everything was handled very seamlessly. Heavenridersindia team is indeed very professional. Thank you so much 🙏🏻Posted on Google AbhishreeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have no words to express my gratitude to Mr. Vishal Thakur and his team. I went for an ice climbing course to Spiti valley with their team. This is supposed to be one of the toughest courses at high altitude areas. In chilling temperatures of minus 28 degrees, tough climbs at high altitudes as well as scaling the whole waterfall, Vishal Thakur was an absolute epitome of leadership and technical expertise. He believed in me more than I did in myself. The course was an absolute success! I will definitely be coming back for the advanced course! Everything from the logistics to the stay to the food and the teaching was managed impeccably. As a special mention, I want to thank Ms. Kalpana as well who was coordinating with me throughout the journey and made sure she was available even in the wee hours of the morning without a single complaint. The whole team clearly works for a common purpose.Posted on Google Swastika GangulyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
