Overview
Spiti Valley is the most beautiful cold desert mountain valley. During the winters, Spiti is approachable from Shimla’s side. Kunzum Pass, which connects the Spiti and Lahaul areas, is only open during the summer. The Spiti Circuit can be completed between June and early October. The tranquil ‘Chandratal Lake’ treasure of the Lahaul & Spiti area will enchant you. Tourists from outside India must obtain inner line permits in order to visit Spiti.
The word Spiti literally means ‘Middle Land’, the land between Tibet and India. Travelers love the remoteness & treacherous roads of Spiti. The trip starts from Chandigarh and you’ll travel through Narkanda, Kinnaur to Spiti valley, and to Kullu-Manali via Atal Tunnel. You will explore the ancient monasteries, highest post office in the world, high altitude villages and get to experience the real blend of Buddhism and Tibetan culture.
