Delhi \u2013 Leh Bus Service Starts for 2016<\/h2>\n

Himachal Road Transport Corporation has begun its\u00a0Delhi \u2013 Leh Bus<\/strong>\u00a0Service for 2016 from Today. Ticket for the HRTC Bus from Delhi to Leh is priced at fairly affordable Rs 1353 per person and is about as cheap as it gets.<\/p>\n

HRTC\u00a0Delhi \u2013 Leh Bus starts its 1200+ kms long journey from Delhi ISBT at 2:30 pm<\/em>\u00a0and reaches Manali in the morning and after one hour long pit stop; it begins its journey to Leh and stops at Keylong for the night. From where it restarts its journey to Leh, next day at 5 am.<\/p>\n

As per HRTC official, \u201cThis is the longest, highest and toughest bus route which tests the skills of our drivers and also bus fitness. No operator (though many tried in the past) dares to run a bus on this route, which throw landscapes of myriad hues open to passengers, not to mention the extreme temperature variation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The bus will pass through some of the highest and dangerous mountain passes of the world including Taglang-La (17,480 ft), Lachulung-La (16,600 ft), Baralacha-La (16,050 ft) and Rohtang-La (13,050 ft).<\/em><\/p>\n

Official said \u201cWe change a bus at Keylong to ensure safety of the passengers. As there is no service station in a large stretch between Darcha and Leh, we sometime take help from Border Roads Organization personnel. Drivers and conductors are trained to handle such situations.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

There is no online booking yet from Delhi or Manali because the departure from Keylong will depend totally on weather conditions. At Delhi-ISBT, one can buy advance ticket for 2:30 pm Keylong bus. From Keylong, the tickets are further extended to Leh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike the HPTDC Bus from Manali to Leh, accommodation and food aren\u2019t included in the price of bus ticket and passengers are responsible for arranging their own accommodation at Keylong. There are plenty of guest houses in Keylong.<\/p>\n

The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has announced that its luxury bus service between Manali and Leh would restart in the first week of July.<\/p>\n
